It’s incredible how lifelike wax statues can resemble flesh-and-blood human beings, and if you happen to find yourself in Jaipur, the wax museum within the Nahargarh Fort is an essential experience.
Background
The Jaipur Wax Museum was founded by Anoop Srivastava, who is a Bollywood veteran, having written multiple movie-scripts, and served as a creative director for many projects. He attracted interest for his concept by unveiling a life-like statue of Amitabh Bachan at the Pink City Film Festival in 2006.
Building a Dream
Fuelled by his vision, Anoop Srivastava put together a team of 32 individuals and worked on preparing the interiors of the fort to showcase one of the unique museums to appear in the nation. This team included designers, sculptors, and technicians.
The Statues
The quality of the wax statues within this museum is on par with the best the world has to offer. The icons portrayed in wax include legendary Bollywood actors such as Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. There are also many historical figures ranging from Gandhi to Einstein, as well as a kids section with superheroes such as Iron Man.
Location
The museum is within one of the most iconic heritage sites of Jaipur, so you can easily locate it from pretty much any of the Jaipur heritage hotels the likes of Alila Fort Bishangarh. Pretty much any cab-driver will know the way.
