The King Fahd Fountain is visible from any part of the city, with its towering height and illumination of over 500 spotlights.
Donated to Jeddah by King Fahd, the construction of the fountain began in the early 80’s and started its show in 1985. The water from the fountain shoots up at a speed of about 375km per hour and weighs more than 16,000kg. King Fahd fountain uses sea water which is filtered a few times to remove soil, sand and organic matter. The pumps and pipes are also cleaned out yearly to avoid fungal or any marine growth inside it.Location
Locally known as the Jeddah Fountain, it’s located on the west coast of Saudi Arabia. Jeddah is a popular tourist destination and has a few great hotels to its name, for example, the Ascott Sari Jeddah. As an alternative to Jeddah hotels, you can also find serviced apartments in the city, but at a higher cost.
