The Souq Waqif is more than just a thriving market place, it’s also home to a wide range of casual cafés and restaurant serving a variety of regional and local flavours. Many luxury hotels in Doha including the likes of Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels located in and around the market feature a range of in -house restaurants serving various authentic Arabian dishes.

Shop till you Drop

The winding alleys of the souq are home to a plethora of stall and shops selling fascinating items such as intricate gold jewellery, colourful scarves, and beautiful carpets. It’s also the ideal place to buy aromatic spices and scented oils! Do remember to take cash as most shop keepers do not accept cards.

The Souq Waqif features a number of renowned art galleries among which the Souq Waqif Art Centre is the most popular and well known. Located at the end of the central road in the market, the halls are lined with art stations frequented by both local and international artists.

Visit a Horse Stables

A visit to the Horse Stables will give visitors a glimpse of a bygone era where spirited Arabian horses played a major role in the daily lives of locals. Entrance is free of charge and interested parties are free to wander around the grounds.
