On the boat
The boats are provided by the Muthurajawela Visitor centre and usually carry about 12 people. Along the lagoon banks, you can find coots, herons and egrets going about their daily lives, while the local fishermen are out and about. Keep an eye out for the bright blue kingfishers who hang out on the branches just above the water while their razor sharp eyes are looking for prey to kill. Troops of monkeys can be seen jumping from tree to tree and if you see a huge log like things floating in the lagoon, no fear, they are just your friendly neighbourhood crocodiles.Where to Stay
