Adelaide is the Southern Capital of Australia and one of the attractions in the city center is the park lands that border the city. Running as a border around the city and spreading around 7.6 KM the Parks add to the beauty of Adelaide. Annually many interstate as well as overseas tourists make their way to this beautiful city. Most of them stay in close proximity to the major attractions and often among their preferred choices are hotels Adelaide CBD. The famous park lands were laid out in the original design of the city by, Colonel William Light. The park is managed by the Adelaide City council. Also there are cemeteries, sporting facilities and other constructions along the park. The parks are made up of 29 different parks. Most of them are planned gardens and have playing fields. The park lands are perfect to enjoy a stroll around or engage in recreational activities and above all the fringe the park forms adds to the beauty of the city. In 2008 it was announced that the Adelaide Park Lands had been added to the Australian National Heritage List.

There are various other attractions around Adelaide that have always kept the tourist busy, some of them are the Adelaide Oval which is a famous cricket stadium, Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide central Market and the Adelaide botanical gardens among others.
