What is the Whale Submarine?
It is the only deep-diving submarine that is in operation in and around the Maldives and has a capacity to carry 50 passengers in a safe and comfortably air-conditioned cabin.
The First Stop
During the experience that lasts around 45 minutes, the first stop will be at a depth of 25 metres where the passengers will be able to witness schools of colourful fish as well as the beautiful coral reefs of the region.
Deep Dives
The Whale Submarine is certified to dive up to a maximum depth of 150 metres, which is quite remarkable. It’s a great way for non-divers as well as most qualified divers to experience such depths. Even an Advanced Open Water Diver is only certified for depths of 30 metres.
How Do I Experience This?
The submarine conducts at least four dives a day and pick-ups take place at 8:30 am, 10:00 am, 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm. Payments are only accepted in cash and the price can be quite hefty, although complimentary pick up is provided from the airport and Maldives water villa resorts along the likes of Adaaran Prestige Vadoo.
