One of the most diverse countries, Indonesia has a little bit for everyone to enjoy. Indonesia is a largely underrated country, here’s a little more information on this beautifully unique country to know before you visit.
The language
You will easily find people who speak in English in the touristy areas of Indonesia. However, as you go further away from this area, the level of English lowers. Despite this, the people that work in the tourism industry always have a good understanding of the English language. It won’t hurt to learn a few words to help you out!
Transportation
Transport is a bit of a challenge in Indonesia, however, certain apps help you find affordable deals. Bus, boat and train schedules are usually found online so that you know it ahead of time, saving you a lot of time. Depending on which part of the country you are in, the efficiency may vary.
What to pack
Depending on where you’re going in Indonesia and what you plan on doing, your packing may vary. If you’re planning on trekking or engaging in a lot of outdoor activity, then you may have to pack some outdoor gear. If you instead plan on booking one of the hotels in Solo, the likes of Alila Solo, then you really have nothing special to pack! Sunblock and sunglasses are a must!
Budget
Travelling in Indonesia can be done as cheap or as costly as you would like it, as it has a whole range of accommodation and restaurants that cater to all types of tourists.
