Overview

Langshan scenic area includes five peaks (known as Five Hills) that towers along the Yangtze River – on its east bank to be precise. These peaks are known as Wolf Hill, Yellow Hill, Sword Hill, Military Hill, and Saddle Hill if introduced in their English interpretations.

Zhiyun Pagoda

Found atop Langshan (Wolf Hill) is Zhiyun Pagoda, a part of the historic Guangjiao Temple, which was built during the Tang Dynasty. It has five-storeys that is made of wood and bricks.

The Legend States…

According to legend, it is said that Guangjiao Temple was dedicated to a monk who had powers to tame sea demons. Due to this, many mariners through the ages, who sailed close to this temple, made offerings to escape the evils of the sea.
