Negombo is growing fast and is becoming a sought after tourist destination on the island. If you want to stay at a hotel in Colombo Airport, there are a good bunch of places to choose from, and The Tamarind Tree Hotel, for example, is one of few hotels that is close to the Colombo International Airport.

Starting from Hendala and going all the way to Pamunugama, this canal was made by the Portuguese back in the 17th century. The canal was used as a route to bring in supplies during the Dutch ruling and now the canal is used for tourist purposes only and runs through the town, for almost 100km.

The Negombo beaches are some of the most beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka, and that’s saying something, when in an island. Away from the crowds and noise of the other beach hotspots, Negombo beaches are for the languid walks and vacationers who prefer calm and peace.
