A Walk Through Chinatown in Bangkok

From shopping and sightseeing to foodie adventures, Chinatown in Bangkok offers a unique perspective of the City of Angels. Here are some of the highlights of this dynamic locale in the Thai capital.

Key Temples

Easy to access for those staying at a Siam hotel Bangkok has to offer, there are several temples in Chinatown worth visiting; these include the Wat Traimit which features the world’s largest gold Buddha, Wat Mangkol Kamalawat with its Buddhist, Confucian and Taoist shrines and Wat Chakawat Ratchawat which is home to crocodiles!

Fun Shopping

For some shopping, you can head to the colourful (and sometimes chaotic!) Sampang Lane and Itsaraphap Lane with their many shops and stalls. Within easy reach of Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, the Khlong Thom Market (on Saturday evenings) features all sorts of knick-knacks, while Old Siam Plaza and the Nightingale-Olympic Mall can also be visited.

Rest & Recreation

When it comes to taking a break from all the hustle and bustle of Chinatown, Romaneenart Park is a good option and has grass areas, water fountains and neo-classical buildings. Not only can you enjoy a leisurely stroll here, but if you plan ahead, even a morning or evening jog.

Foodie Discoveries

No trip to Chinatown is complete without sampling its foodie delights. At night, Yaowarat Road becomes a street food hotspot with plenty of dining options on offer. Among the dishes you can look to try are oyster omelettes, grilled squid, pad Thai and Yaowarat toasted bread.
