Queensland, an eastern state of Australia, has some of the most beautiful geographical locations on the entire continent. One of her most beautiful attractions is Agnes Water.
Agnes Water
This is a famous tourist town situated in Central Queensland and is the northernmost surfing destination to be found on the east coast. Since it’s a tourist town, Agnes Water specialises in everything from camping and trekking expeditions to weddings and family vacations.
History
Agnes Water was initially the home of a significant tribe known as the Meeroni. It was later colonised by Europeans. The town’s name was given as a tribute to a sailing ship that was lost at sea. Given the remoteness of the town, development only took off in the mid 1990s after the development of infrastructure connecting the town safely to the rest of the state.
Activities and Experiences
This is a place that is teeming with adventure, and offers an intensive range of experiences and activities. If you love the great outdoors there are many trekking or camping expeditions you can indulge in. For seekers of knowledge there are a few museums where you can learn about the history of this beautiful place. If you’re foodie, the astonishing selection of cafes and restaurants will not disappoint.
