Famously known as HKCEC, this is a handsome city structure situated in the heart of Hong Kong. HKCEC is one of the main convention and exhibition venues, where hundreds of international events such as congresses, conferences, meetings and seminars are held every year.
Location
The centre is located on the waterfront of world famous Victoria Harbour, which is the doorstep of Hong Kong’s Central Business hub. With many hotels in Wan Chai, Hong Kong to choose from, city properties such as Cosmo Hotel Wan Chai Hong Kong are found in close proximity to the HKCEC.
Construction
HKCEC is built on an artificially reclaimed island overlooking the Victoria Harbour and was subjected to two expansions since the initial construction to offer a total rentable function space close to over 92,000 square meters. This domed edifice is built using mainly glass and metal, which gives its unique shape.
Facilities
HKCEC features exhibition halls, convention halls, theatres, meeting rooms, restaurants and a massive car park. Further, it has the capacity to host over 103 million in one year. The convention centre was awarded ‘Best Convention and Exhibition Centre in Asia’ 13 times by CEI Asia magazine due to its unmatched services.
Getting there
HKCEC could be reached within 10 minutes by local visitors travelling from the MTR Wan Chai Station or Wan Chai ferry pier. It is also a 40-minute taxi ride from the Airport.
