The Trang province is adorned with hundreds of exquisite attractions. Both on land and on sea Trang boasts beauty, culture and so much more. 45 minutes by ferry from the city of Trang there is a special island, famously known for its touch of mystery. The Koh Mooks sparkling blue waters, powdery white sands and unspoiled appearance makes it feel like a chunk of paradise in the Andaman Sea. A Trang resort that would perfectly facilitate your adventure to Koh Mook is Anantara Sikao Resort & Spa. So rise early, sail away to this island and spend a whole day relishing in Koh Mooks beauty and all its wonders.
Although it takes nearly 4 hours to get to Koh Mook from Krabi, geographically the island is located in the middle of Krabi and Trang. Koh Mooks biggest highlight is the Emerald Cave. Discovered only a few decades ago, the cave is thought to have been a secret location where pirates trashed their treasures. But it is not the supposed treasure that gives the cave its name for the cave is adorned by Emerald green waters that is created by sunlight filtering its way through the sea. Getting to the Emerald Cave is one exciting adventure. A tour guide is pivotal since the activity can be a bit challenging. Basically one has to swim into the island then walk single file while holding on to a rope, all the while following the tour guide. The journey feels like a mysterious walk with no end but in a short while out of nowhere a white sandy beach would emerge surrounded by high cliffs and a small glade. For obvious reasons the cave can be visited only during low tide.
Apart from this famous cave, Koh Mook boasts a splendid line of beaches which includes Haad Farang Beach, Hua Laem Beach and Phanga Bay. The island also happens to be an excellent spot to take in some authentic Thai culture and cuisine.
