A gleaming, immaculate Big Buddha statue overlooks the city of Phuket. Also known as Phra Phutta Ming Mongkol Akenakiri, the statue is perched on the summit of Mount Nagakerd.

The statue measures to a width of 25.5 m and 45 m in height. The concrete structure is decorated with white jade marble from Burma.
Getting there
The Big Buddha is located about 20 minutes from Kata Rocks and other accommodation properties in Phuket. Luxury villas in Thailand often recommend a visit to this site. Travel 6 km from Chaofa road west, about 2 km from Chalong Circle.

Once you reach the top, you’ll be blessed with 360-degree views of Phuket Town, Chalong Bay, Kata, Karon and so much more, so don’t forget your camera!

Fortunately, there’s no entrance fee to visit the Big Buddha statue. The sunset from the peak is absolutely breath-taking and should not be missed if you’re visiting in the evenings. Feel free to visit anytime from 8 am to 7:30 pm.
