When to travel
Sri Lanka is a tropical destination, so that you can travel the country around the year but the best time to travel to the island is from August to March. There are so many things to do and places to visit in Sri Lanka, so make sure to spend at least three weeks on the island nation.
Week 1
Start by exploring the hill capital Kandy, make your way towards Sigiriya, Anuradhapura, and Polonnaruwa, where you can explore the temples and ruins, and then look at spending time in the East towards Trincomalee.
Week 2

Once you have spent time exploring the destinations with a cold climate, head towards a national park to witness some gentle giants – Sri Lankan elephants and leopards.
Week 3
During your 3rd week, have a peaceful time on the beach in the South in Mirissa or Hikkaduwa, explore Galle Fort, and finally make your way to Colombo.
