The temple showcases Mazuism

Although this temple is a Buddhist temple, it’s dedicated to Goddess Mazu who is a Chinese sea goddess. Thus, visitors get exposed to a new mix of traditions here. This new belief is called ‘Mazuism’.

It’s a historic temple

Ba Thien Hau was constructed in 1760. Locals still believe that Mazu- the Goddess flies around the area on a mat and keeps on protecting the ships and the people on the sea. So Worshipping the temple is one of their daily routines.

About the beautiful interior…

When you come to the main altar, you see three statues of Mazu, the Sea Goddess. Although they are the main highlights, every corner of this temple has quite a lot of artworks and sculptures to adore.

It’s located close to the city centre
