Gorgeous architecture, a modern marvel and a whole lot of world records – The Burj Khalifa is all this and so much more. Here’s an informative insight into this ultimate symbol of glitz and glamour in the famous emirate of Dubai.

The man behind Burj
Adrian Smith, a US architect was involved in the design of the structure. The appearance of the tower is based on a flower that is native to South America, southern states of America and Mexico – known as Spider Lily. The building was initially supposed to be called the ‘Burj Dubai’ but was later changed to ‘Burj Khalifa’, in order to honour the president of UAE.
Famous visitors
Just 10 minutes from Ascott Park Place Dubai and close to other luxury hotel apartments in Dubai, the Burj Khalifa has seen an abundance of celebrity visitors. Gigi Hadid, David Beckham, and Mariah Carey are just a few to be named.
Titles held
Tallest freestanding structure in the world, the highest occupied floor in the world, the tallest service elevator in the world and the world’s highest swimming pool in a building are some of the titles this building proudly holds. The Burj Khalifa is three times as tall as the Eiffel tower and twice the height of New York’s Empire State Building.
