Various cultures have entered, stayed behind or left Jakarta, adding their own flavours to the rich culture of this city. Discover Jakarta to understand Indonesia.
Discover Taman Mini Indonesia Indah
Beautiful mini Indonesia is sort of a theme mark slash oversized model of the whole of Indonesia. You can visit all 26 provinces of Indonesia in this park (well sort of). It is located not too far away from Jakarta’s central business district and within close proximity to most hotels and even many a serviced apartment in Jakarta. In fact, you can reach this model park in under 30 minutes from most places such as the Ascott Kuningan Jakarta in the CBD.
Go to the Ancol Beach
Ancol Beach is a public beach, where locals go to spend the day. You will need to pay an entry fee. There are pools along the shoreline and sundecks too. The Sea World and Water Park are in the same vicinity.
Be a culture vulture in Kota Tua
Known as the cultural heart of Jakarta, Kota Tua has a pretty good coffee culture. Go for a stroll along the cobbled pathways as you admire Dutch architecture and grab a cappuccino at a café.
Escape to the thousand islands
An archipelago of many (thousand is an exaggeration) islands, the thousand islands offer plenty of opportunities for snorkelling, banana boat riding simply having fun on the beach.
