Yala National Park is popular among travelers as the perfect place in Sri Lanka to spot leopards. Not just for the leopards, Yala is a safe place for many other animals as well.
The National Park
Yala is indeed one of the best places to visit in Sri Lanka, especially if you love the wildlife. The park has 5 main blocks out of which only 2 are open for the visitors.
When to visit Yala?
Visit the Yala National Park during the dry season. That means, from February to June because, during this period, many animals come out in search of water to drink. If you want to see leopards, February- March will be the ideal season for you.
The wildlife
According to online sources such as Truly Sri Lanka, Yala has quite a big number of animals in addition to leopards and elephants. There are crocodiles, buffaloes, sloth bears, deer, and many more in here!
Safari tours
If you spend your vacation at a Yala hotel, they most probably will arrange a private or a group tour for you to explore Yala. A safari tour takes around 4.5hours.
