This site, which is named after a Shilla Dynasty monarch, King Taejong, who is said to have enjoyed the scenery here, features various trails to explore; amongst the key attractions is the historical Yeongdo Lighthouse that offers more spellbinding views from the top though keep in mind there are plenty of steps to get to it!
Intrepid travellers can also visit the park’s Deungdae and Gamji pebble beaches, while not to be missed is the Taejongdae Observatory which provides more breathtaking panoramas that include “Tea Kettle Island”. Also of interest are the Taejongsa Temple which hosts a yearly Hydrangea Festival (in July), the Spirit of the Sea Monument and the Marine Technician’s Hall of Fame with busts of famous seafarers. Art lovers can additionally head to the See & Sea Gallery with diverse creative works on display.
