A visit to the Thanh Ha Pottery Village in Hoi An is like stepping back in time to another era; you will come across simple riverfront homes where you can witness a traditional livelihood that has been passed down from generation to generation for more than 400 years. This site is at Block 5 in the Quang Nam province’s, Thanh Ha Ward and is easy to reach from hotels near Hoi An Ancient Town; this includes those beside the idyllic An Bang Beach such as Citadines Pearl Hoi An. Opening hours of the village are from 8:00am to 5:30pm and you can consider reaching it via bicycle, taxi or even boat.
The Thanh Ha Terracotta Park
Apart from the pottery village, you can also explore the captivating Thanh Ha Terracotta Park. As you wander around this attraction, you will come across terracotta sculptures of iconic landmarks found the world over; these include the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Notre-Dame de Paris, the Sydney Opera House and India’s Taj Mahal!
The Thanh Ha Pottery Museum
Also, of interest is the Thanh Ha Pottery Museum where one can gain more insights into pottery making in Hoi An and Vietnam. Amidst this two-storey building, you will come across ancient works of pottery along with modern sculptures while you get a terracotta market, workshop and an area for kids to enjoy pottery making too.
