Although you might imagine glitzy hotels, scenic beaches, and chic restaurants when you think of Abu Dhabi, it’s not all that this modern city has to offer! A lesser-known fact about this largest emirate of the UAE is that it’s home to its own safari island. Visiting this island would certainly be an incredible experience for anyone during a holiday spent at one of the luxury hotels in Abu Dhabi.
Overview
The name of this island has originated from the very first settlers in Abu Dhabi: the Bani Yas tribe. This island encompasses a land of approximately 30 square miles, which boasts several luxury resorts such as Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Sahel Villa Resort.
How to Get There
Visitors can look forward to either a boat ride from Jebel Dhanna Jetty or a seaplane ride to reach Sir Bani Yas Island.
A Paradise for Animal Lovers
Arabian Wildlife Park takes up more than half the land space of this island. And over 10,000 animals, including cheetahs, ostriches, and gazelles, call this wildlife reserve their home.
Other Attractions
This Island is the perfect escape where you can explore the waters either by a snorkelling session or a kayaking trip. You could also test your mettle in an array of activities such as archery and mountain biking.
