Built to fill the void left by the closure of the popular Lumphini Night Market this engaging recreational space is proving to be one of Bangkok’s most successful retail and dinning franchises. Tipped to be pay homage to the city’s past, The Riverfront is located within the historic East Asiatic Company warehouses which are in turn situated in a key riverside trading region that served as a the lifeblood of Bangkok’s economy during the 19th and 20th centuries. The entire area of the night market was once occupied by a Danish trading outfit although the venue now boasts high-end retail vendors as well as plush lifestyle stores among its tenants.
Divided in to four districts, The Riverfront’s most popular fashion stopover is of course The Factory District where shoppers will find the latest trends in clothing, home ware, handicrafts, souvenirs and designer wear. This area is also known for its affordability as bargain items are also available within the region’s more than 1500 boutiques. More than 40 eateries are found in The Riverfront which also houses an alfresco food court.
The Down Square District however is occupied by a massive sports bar and an event space while restaurants serving international cuisine can also be found here.
