Not to be missed is the Phra Chedi Sisuriyothai, a gold and white chedi which was constructed in honour of a Thai queen. The stupa is located amongst tranquil gardens which is a great place to take a few minutes’ rest. Not to be missed is the Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon which is renowned for its ruins and a massive reclining Buddha.
Another local highlight is the Bang Pa-In Palace which boasts a rich and significant history. Visitors should also visit the Khun Phaen House which is a replicated traditionally constructed teak mansion which is situated amongst lovely parklands. Another picturesquely scenic location is the Phra Ram Park with its exquisitely beautiful woodlands, nature trails and lovely bridges which take the visitor amidst an array of Buddha statues and buildings. With all this on offer, a tour of Ayutthaya will never be dull for a moment.
