Located in the north western side of Bali Indonesia, the Bali Barat National Park is a 158 square kilometre nature reserve comprised of land area and seas areas. Most visitors to the park take the Coast road Lovina or travel from the south via the Gilimanuk road. There are two park officer sin Cekik and Labuan Lalang to purchase park permits and to acquire information and maps. There is a ranger station between the two offices. These welcome visitors and arrange guided tours, if they haven’t already arranged for tours with their hotels and resorts.
Although the park extends over a vast patch of land, only some areas are open to visitors. Walking trails should strictly be with an official guide. The exotic marine life and corals can be viewed on board boats that take visitors around the Gilimanuk Bay. The Tegal Blunder Trail is popular among Bird watchers and the Gunung Klatakan Trail takes you on a tough but rewarding path through the rainforest area. The Uninhibited Menjangan island is a must visit on your journey to The Barat National park. This is the best area on the park’s map to catch a glimpse of exotic marine life, and indulge in diving and snorkeling.
