Weligama, often known as a surfing destination in Sri Lanka, is increasing in popularity as a tourist hotspot, especially among backpackers. How is Weligama for a digital nomad? This has not been discussed much, but this blog article would do.
Stay connected through wi-fi
If you stay at a property such as Parangi Weligama Bay, you don’t really need to spend extra for wi-fi connectivity because it’s complimentary. But if that isn’t the case, you will have to find some cool places in the town that offer free wi-fi and get your work done sitting there.
Other ways to go online
If wi-fi is not an option, you can either try out a personal hotspot or home broadband. Take a local sim card and get a good data package activated. For home broadband, you can opt for SLT (national communication service provider) and that may also have different package options for you.
Managing the lifestyle
It’s a fact that Weligama Bay hotels have great food and drinks. So, if your tummy demands a good meal, head to any of them and enjoy the food. The nightlife here is also great, and you can have fun until midnight while enjoying drinks.
The challenges
Weligama is still developing as a cool spot for digital nomads. So, you will have to tolerate the power cuts happening from time to time. If you feel like shopping, sometimes you will have to go all the way to Mirissa or Midigama, so you will have to bear up on this too.
