Looking to escape the concrete jungles of the ever buzzing city of Bangkok? Regarded as one of the prettiest green spaces in South East Asia, Benjakiti Park is one of the most picturesque sites in the city. Beautiful fountains, flowers around lakes and green as far as you can see. It is also regarded as a cycling heaven!
Sukhumvit hotels are the easiest to stay at if you want to get to Benjakiti and there are many hotels in the vicinity such as Maitria Hotel Sukhumvit 18. The park is located in the centre of Bangkok and is a great place to enjoy, relax and stroll around. There are other parks such as Chatuchak Park and Suan Rot Fai which have been here all along; however, this is less known as it is only a recent addition to the increasing green spaces in Bangkok.
The main attraction in the park is the central lake which has well-manicured flower bushes around it. The calm lake is an ideal place to enjoy a paddle around in a swan boat. One of the eye-catching features of the lake is that there is a photogenic reflection of the surrounding landscape and skyline on the water. There is also some space to enjoy a walk or jog that stretches up to 2 km around the lake, which tends to get quite busy during the early mornings or evenings. Unlike other parks, there is a clear distinct space for those on bicycles. Within the park, there is also a bike renting facility. Bikes of all sizes are available to be rented at approximately 40 Bahts an hour. Overall the park is a quiet not so crowded place to enjoy some peace and personal space.
