An international airport serving south, mid and west Wales, the Cardiff Wales International Airport sees at least 1 million passengers passing through. It is located 12 kilometres West of Cardiff’s city centre in a village called Rhoose. The private company that owns the airport is 90% owned by a Spanish company and 10 % owned by Aena International, the world’s largest airport operator.

It has been in operation from the 1940s when a wartime satellite aerodrome and a training base was first installed. The airfield officially commenced operations in 1942. Based in the White Building on the Southside is the latest addition to the site, the flying school that was set up in 2010 by Aeros.
