The Central Group is one of Thailand’s most recognised mall builders, and owns a total of thirty-two malls across the country. One of their biggest properties is CentralPlaza Rama III.
Background
The mall was opened in 1997 and it is massive still, even by today’s standards. The mall features nine floors, which includes two basements as well. There’s a wide selection of retail stores, a Central Department Store, video-game arcade, 8-screen cinema, and parking for 2340 cars.
The Department Store
The Central Department Store alone of Central Plaza Rama III is absolutely colossal, and takes up six of the nine floors that make up the massive shopping mall.
Entertainment Features
This mall definitely makes very good use of its size, and you can find so many ways to be entertained, with the presence of a bowling alley, massage parlours, and many hair/beauty salons. The 6th floor in particular houses a massive food court, along with a range of electronics shops specialising in phones and everything related to gaming.
Unique Vibe
CentralPlaza Rama III acts as a mediator between the ultra-sophisticated high-end malls such as Siam Paragon, and powerhouses such as MBK, which tend to get seriously crowded. If you’re at one of many 5 star hotels in Bangkok, such as the likes of Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok, and wish to shop at a fairly calm and composed place, then look no further than CentralPlaza Rama III.
CentralPlaza Rama III is the biggest offering by the famous Central Group, and is Sathorn’s main shopping centre.
