Situated in the lush hills of Talawakele, Devon Falls brings much beauty to its atmosphere. This stream of water falling down from the high mountains is a branch flowing from Kotmale Oya which is a limb of the Mahaweli River considered as the longest of Sri Lanka. The Devon Falls stands in an altitude of 1140m above sea level. The nearest waterfall to Devon is St. Claire’s, which is another striking attraction among tourists. The waterfall could be seen very clearly from the main road which leads from Thalawakele to Hatton and also could be seen quite clear from Midigama. This waterfall also faced adverse effects from the upper Kotmale hydropower project so did the environment.
