Location
This site enjoys a central location in the city with the surrounding streets leading to the North, West, South and East Gates of the ancient City Wall. The tower which is a 10-minute walk from hotels like Grand Park Xian is also near the Drum Tower and can be easily accessed by bus; you can alternatively take the metro (Line 2) to the Bell Tower Station.

Ensure you take pictures of the Bell Tower both in the morning and at night when it is lit up adding to its captivating appearance. Make time to also visit the site from one of the nearby hotels in Xian, China; you will come across intricate engravings from the Qing and Ming Dynasties, an ancient bell and lovely views from the top.
Design
Originally constructed in the 14th century and rebuilt over the centuries, the two-storey Bell Tower reaches a height of around 36 meters. This wooden structure that stands on a brick base showcases traditional Ming-style design and architecture and features eaves with dark green glazed tiles and a roof with gold plating.
Performances
Apart from visiting the Bell Tower and taking in its sights, also look to witness one of the performances held here at different times of the day. Each show takes around 10 to 15 minutes and provides insights into traditional music with performers dressed in elaborate costumes playing a variety of instruments including a big drum.
