Showcasing the private collection of H.H. Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family, the Emirates National Auto Museum is situated in proximity to Abu Dhabi city. Housing a wide array of cars and other vehicles, the museum includes modified and original automobiles. Few Mercedes in each colour of the rainbow, fitted with conveniences such as TVs and refrigerators are part of the displays. Several other vehicles either painted in one of the rainbow colours or with a rainbow logo painted on them can be seen.
The massive, pyramid-shaped museum houses approximately 200 vehicles. Few military vehicles are also given a spot, allowing children to climb. Atop one military vehicle lies a golfing range. Sleek Dodges in all sizes are on display although the impressive 5-metre-high 50s Dodge power Wagon comprising an apartment with bedrooms, bathrooms and a kitchen, under its roof takes the price at any given day.
The museum also houses an extraordinary collection of mostly 1990s to 1950s vehicles which includes the star pieces such as the four times huge models of a Dodge truck featuring different trailers, supposedly providing full mobile housing inside. Complementing the image of the museum, a collection of 4 wheel drive vehicles are included as well as a thoroughly detailed model of a 1890s Benz 3 wheeler.
The miniature assortments of identical Mercedes limousines that together represent the colours of the rainbow are the museum owner’s trademark. Adding a stunning contrast to an extensive collection of mini and bubble cars are a number of 1970s European and 1950s American limousines with large dimensions. Some attractive sports cars and prototypes add more glamour to the museum’s content. Behind the museum stands a workshop, which ensures that all the exhibits are in brilliant condition.
