Know Before You Go
Also known as the Than Sadet National Park, this verdant site is on the island’s east coast and can be reached on excursions from SHA+ certified properties like Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas. Interestingly, the park is also associated with the Thai royal family going back to 1888 when the Tha Sadet Waterfall was visited by King Rama V.
Idyllic Waterfalls
Amongst the major draws here for those visiting from a Koh Phangan resort are the enchanting waterfalls near a 2.5-km-long stream or amidst lush rainforests. A key attraction is the Phaeng Waterfall which can be reached on a 250-metre jungle trek; also worth visiting are the Than Prawet Falls and the Than Sadet Waterfall which has freshwater pools and an inscription by King Rama V.

The Koh Phangan National Park in Thailand is home to rich biodiversity that includes a diverse range of wildlife. Those exploring this site may come across animals such as the spectacled langur, sambar deer, the Javan mongoose as well as various amphibians and birds. There are several mountains as well here such as Khao Ra; the park’s highest point, this mountain is approximately 630 metres above sea level and offers truly breathtaking panoramas.
