Built by the Manchu rulers in 1643, right before they annexed the city of Beijing, the Four Towers are popular tourist attractions located in Shenyang, China. Each tower is meant to symbolise one of the four Buddhist Heaven Kings. The towers are named according to their geographical location (that is the West Tower, East Tower, South Tower and the North Tower) and bare an intense resemblance to each other- all towers have a bulb shape, are painted white and have gold decorations adorning the tip.
