It’s not always one discovers a theme park solely based on ancient religious mythology, but that is precisely what you will find upon visiting the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park.
The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Monument
This was designed to be the tallest statue in Indonesia and stands 30m taller than the Statue of Liberty. The statue was inspired by a legendary story from Hinduism.
The Search for Amerta
According to the myth, Garuda was a massive bird-like creature that allowed Lord Visnu to ride him in exchange for amerta, which was a mythical elixir. Although some depictions show Garuda as an anthropomorphic half-human creature, the park portrays Garuda as a colossal winged bird-like being.
Recreation Site
The recreation site of the park has a range of beautiful structures and settings worthy of exploration. This includes the Wisnu Plaza and the Indraloka Garden.
Multi-Purpose Site
This part of the park has been used several times to showcase massive concerts. Internationally renowned bands that have performed here include Iron Maiden and Paramore. If you’re residing at one the many Bali resorts situated nearby like Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort, you might want to see what’s taking place in and around this amazing venue.
