Spreading over sixty hectares of land is the Garuda Wisnu Kencana also known as GWK; a cultural park in Bali. This is dedicated mainly to god Vishnu and his vehicle, Garuda, a mythical bird.
Things to see
Within the massive 60 hectare area of the park, the most prominent attraction is the statue of god Vishnu known as Wisnu Plaza. Also, the statue of the mythical bird Garuda which is half bird and half human is a popular attraction. The breathtakingly beautiful view of the sceneries below at the Wisnu Plaza is a must see.
Cultural events
Many cultural performances take place at Garuda Wisnu Kencana during different times of the days. These performances bring out the pure essence of Balinese culture through music and dance. If you are staying at COMO Shambhala or any other wellness retreat in close proximity make sure you witness the events that take place during the late hours of the day
Taste of Bali
The New Beranda Restaurant and Jendela Bali are restaurants within the park that serve mouth-watering Balinese cuisine. The Beranda is more of a traditional and exotic restaurant where as the Jendela is a café with awesome views to witness
