George Camille spent most of his life on the island of La Digue, but was born in 1963 on the main island of Mahé. Art always came naturally to George Camille, and he was initially self-taught. As his artistic journey progressed, he developed his unique style through his education and affiliations with various artists such as ‘Tonga Bill’ Fehoko, Hapdaphai, and notably the French artist Mikel Chaussepied who was Camille’s gateway into ‘etching’.
