Located in the An Lao district, Hai Phong is mostly mountains and rice paddies. The Elephant Mountain is about 20 km from the centre of Hai Phong and looks exactly like a giant elephant in the middle of the rice fields.

There is also an archaeological site within the mountain that has been dated back to 3000 years ago. You will find evidence of the Mac Dynasty of the 16th century in the ruins of citadels and pagodas.
