Of the lesser-known beaches and tourist attractions in Thailand, the Hat Sawan Beach would be one.
How the beach came to be
Back in the early 1960s, the Ubolratana Dam was constructed in the area, and this dam helped provide power to most parts of the country. The reservoir found behind this dam does many more things in addition to this. You will find quite a few beaches close to the dam, and one of them is the Hat Sawan Beach.
The Beach
Spreading over about 32 acres of land, this beach is popular with the locals, and a few tourists too. You will have the opportunity to partake in many water sport activities on this beach, like swimming and fishing among others.
Accommodation
If you want to spend a few days exploring the area in and around Khon Kaen and the beach, staying at a hotel in Khon Kaen Thailand the likes of AVANI Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre would be a great idea. The beach is not too far from the hotel and you will find many great dining spots nearby too. The hotels also usually have their own eateries inside of it.
Hiking by the beach
The Hat Sawan Beach also has a few nature trails that make for great hiking and trekking expeditions on a day out. You could always take a walk and come back to rest by the waves. You will find many beachfront cafes in the area too.
