The Medieval Lidl Supermarket
Located on Aungier Street not far from many luxury hotels in Ireland, this curious supermarket was built on top of the remains of the 11th-century medieval house. Several clear panels are cleverly positioned on the shop’s floor, allowing you to peer into the ancient dwelling while picking out your groceries.
Drimnagh Castle
It’s a little away from the city centre but it’s the only castel in Ireland with a moat that’s still filled with water. Sign up for a guided tour and you’ll be taken over the drawbridge and into the castle for an immersive experience of its history from Norman to Medieval times.
Sandymount Strand and the Poolbeg Lighthouse
The walk from Sandymount to the bright red Poolbeg lighthouse makes for a lovely stroll if you’re based at nearby hotels by the likes of Anantara Hotels & Resorts. However, you’ll need to keep track of the tidal patterns lest the walkway is at risk of being submerged.
