The Royal Barges rests on the Chao Phraya River’s National Museum of Barges and is some of the most magnificent barges you’ll ever see.
The museum
The museum is home to a grand total of 8 such barges, which includes four historical barges that come with ancient artefacts like uniforms and flags used back in the day. These boats are kept in the boathouses that belong to the museum and are kept away from the water to maintain the decor and avoid deterioration.
When the country faced wars in the latter years, the royal barges were also used as battleships. The Royal Kaithin Ceremony was held recently and the barges were used in a procession then.

The museum is open from 9am to 5pm and the fees vary according to what equipment or recording device you carry inside.
