Also known as Huangya Pass, Huangyaguan Great Wall stretches approximately 42 kilometres from the Malan Pass in Hebei to General Pass in Beijing. It is a must-explore attraction during a holiday spent at your service apartment in Tianjin.
Huangyaguan Great Wall can be reached from Ascott TEDA MSD Tianjin if you don’t mind a road trip of approximately two hours and nine minutes!
It has been discovered that Huangyaguan was built over 1400 years ago during the Northern Qi Dynasty. Later, brick walls were built when the Ming Dynasty was in power. In 1984, this wall underwent extensive repair when 20 water tower and one water pass were renovated.
According to the recent findings, the builders of Huangyaguan Great Wall have smoked cones for each metre of the wall that they completed.
Huangya Water Gate
This pass connects the Taiping Mountain Stronghold on the east and Huangya Pass on the west. There are five arches below the wall, which allow the river to flow through – it is said that during war, these arches were closed, and the soldiers would attack the enemies who come from the waterway.
