Dubai is a city of luxury! Yes, but that doesn’t say that this great city lacks cultural pride. Dubai Museum is one of the finest places to explore this pride.
There was a time where the whole of Dubai was covered by the desert. The lifestyles of the people were different, and their traditions as well. Dubai Museum is the perfect place in which you can explore all of them.
Al Fahidi Fort
The Al Fahidi Fort which was built in 1787 is home to the Dubai Museum. This fort was once the residential venue of the ruler, a garrison, and then a prison.
The origin of the Museum
Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum decided to convert this venue into a museum in 1971. The venue already had artefacts well-preserved, and just the declaration was needed.
At the museum, you have the chance to explore many items used by pearl merchants back in the day. Many artefacts you see here have been made of copper, mud, and alabaster.
