Al Fahidi Fort
The Al Fahidi Fort which was built in 1787 is home to the Dubai Museum. This fort was once the residential venue of the ruler, a garrison, and then a prison.
The origin of the Museum
Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum decided to convert this venue into a museum in 1971. The venue already had artefacts well-preserved, and just the declaration was needed.
The location
The museum is within easy access to any Palm Jumeirah hotel the likes of Avani Palm View Dubai. You find many landmarks around this area including Dubai souks and the Dubai Creek.
Exhibits
At the museum, you have the chance to explore many items used by pearl merchants back in the day. Many artefacts you see here have been made of copper, mud, and alabaster.
