Khun Korn Waterfall is said to be one of the most scenic waterfalls in Chiang Rai located in seclusion within Khun Korn Forest Park. It is easy to find on your own while going past a few beautiful locations on the way.
Khun Korn Forest Park
The waterfall is located 30 km to the south-west of the town centre of Chiang Rai and under and hour’s drive from Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort. The Forest park is one of the densest jungles in the area. It is a beautiful drive to the forest through paddy fields and some roadside restaurants that have delicious and clean food.
The Hike to the Waterfall
The jungle road is 10 km after which you come out into a small park headquarters which will signal the beginning of the hike. The hike to Khun Korn is one of the most peaceful and is encouraged if you want to connect intimately with nature. Since the hike should be taken at a slow pace, an early start is recommended. Stay local at a hotel in Chiang Rai.
How Big is Khun Korn
Khun Korn is not as big as the 250-metre-tall Thi Lo Su waterfall but it is one of the tallest and can definitely feel very big. You can get hit from the spray at even 200 metres away. It is open from 8 am to 5 pm every day.
