Although this museum is today a glamorous tourist attraction found right around the world, it did not really start on such a scale. The founder of this great museum was a young talented lady by the name of Marie Tussaud who was taught the art of wax modelling by her mother’s employer. It was the year 1777 when she did her first exhibit and before long she recreated a world of famous people. This also included the victims of the French Revolution which were particularly arresting. In 1802 she went to London and after a series of temporary exhibits at various locations, she settled in Baker Street where she opened her first real museum. All her wax war victims were displayed in the Chamber of Horrors which to this day is a very thrilling site to see!
