Most of us know Batam as a lovely island destination in Indonesia that has a vibrant nightlife by its beaches, and as a wonderful spot for duty-free shopping. But little do we know about this island as a spiritual destination with a lot of religious places in it.
The Jabal Arafah Mosque
If you are a Muslim staying at a nearby resort such as Travelodge Batam, then this is the mosque that you will be visiting for your prayers. It is an extremely clean Mosque, and you will also have to make sure that you do not disturb its well-maintained interiors while here.
The Tua Pek Kong Temple
Especially loved by the Chinese, this temple is filled with beautiful cultures and traditions. Guests who stay in Batam hotels often visit this temple to pray and give offerings as a regular habit.
Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Temple
Locals call this temple the Laughing Buddha temple, and once you enter the premises you will get to know the reason. There are several statues of the Laughing Buddha here. And yes, you can always photograph them. There are no restrictions!

Pura Agung Amerta Buana
Located in an extremely beautiful environment full of greenery and buildings- quite antique looking, this place is also loved by devotees from all around the world who come to make their prayers.
