Phraya Nakhon Cave is an absolute fairy tale and you won’t really understand its brilliance unless you visit it. Pictures can only describe so much.
Location
The cave is situated in the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park and is just 45 minutes’ drive from Anantara Hua Hin Resort and other resorts situated in Hua Hin. Exploring the caves is one of the more popular things to do in Hua Hin Thailand.
The Guide
The national park requires a fee of 200 baht at the entrance after which you will be assigned a guide. Often this might be a nine-year-old girl. But don’t worry, she will know where she is going.
The Climb
The climb is not very steep but requires a lot of stair climbing. The first cave that you enter will be breath-taking, especially when the sun streams through the open roof.
Inside the Cave
But it is the second cave that you are there to see. There is a pavilion in the centre that was constructed sometime in 1890. The pavilion is surrounded by beautiful vegetation. The light is always best before 11 am when you are guaranteed the best backdrop for photos for your Instagram. Spend some time exploring the insides of the caves before you head back out.
