Get set to hit the beach to soak up some vitamin D and maybe take on the rolling waves on your surfboard at Kings Beach, Caloundra’s main seaside spot.
Location
Kings Beach is situated just adjacent to the town centre and is surrounded by Caloundra hotels including the likes of Oaks Oasis. It is fronted by a seawall running from the pool to the Surf Life Saving Club. A large car park is located in the vicinity as well.
Swimming
Under normal weather conditions, the beach is quite safe for swimmers both young and old. However, do make sure to swim in the areas patrolled by lifeguards just to be on the safer side.
Surfing
The main surfing beach in the area, King’s Beach is visited by hordes of passionate surfers as there are some great breaks with the best rips happening at the end of the shoreline. Do keep in mind that there’re permanent rips which run against the rocks and intensifies if the waves exceed 1m, along with other rips forming alongside the beach
Fishing
It is also a great spot for those who love to fish given its central location with many deeper rip holes situated off the rocks. The beach also offers many facilities such as BBQ pits to cook your fresh catches then and there.
