The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a venerated Hindu site which contains a multitude of long-tailed macaque monkeys. Visitors may purchase food to feed the monkeys at the entrance to the park. The sanctuary is also noted for its historic temples which include the Holy Bathing Temple, Death Temple (Pura Dalem) and Funerary or Cremation Temple (Pura Prajapati). The forest, temples and monkeys are all considered to be sacred, protecting the region from evil spirits.
