Located in the Wadi Bani Awf, the Snake Canyon, this track is obviously not for the faint at heart. However, for the wild and adventurous, there are many Oman hotels to reside in while engaging in this adrenaline pumping adventure and Desert Nights Camp is a hotel in Oman that is sought after by many for this very purpose. While regardless of the menacing appearance of the gorge, the canyon is a relatively harmless place filled with many wondrous sights to behold. The canyon gains its name from the series of narrow traverses and zip line crossings and the serpent like effect that water creates as it glides between these. It is always good to be ready to plunge into a pool or two while on this trek as the Snake Canyon is known for its collection of delightful rock pools and streams that run between the rocks. The Snake Canyon walk is actually consisted of three kilometres of walking, wading or swimming through pools or scrambling over boulders only to come out at Al-Zamman. The exciting thing about this trek is that one never knows what to expect next while at this excursion. More or less like a rollercoaster ride, the Snake Canyon trek is bound to keep you coming back for more.
